Infants with colic present an interesting practice management issue. The infant presents with severe craniosacral fascial strain in the pelvic and abdominal areas. I lay it out for the parents that treatment will involve at least 5-8 visits of CFT/IDM. The parents are not too concerned with the fussing during the first treatment, because they see and deal with it every day. But once they see no apparent change in their infant’s condition after that visit, many do not continue….they have to pay out of pocket for every visit, and their pediatrician probably said their child would grow out of it in a few months….and by the way, what happens health-wise to those untreated colicky infants as adults?
