The First Breath

Many critical physiologic changes need to occur at the first breath. The circulatory and lymphatic systems need to quickly clear the fluid in the lungs to allow oxygen to enter the body. The circulatory and respiratory systems have to quickly shift from the placental blood circulation to independent heart/lung function.

Forty years ago the cranial osteopathic physicians stressed that the quality of the first breath greatly determined the future vitality of a human being. In our CFT world, what if birth trauma created craniosacral fascial tightness diminishing that first breath? We believe that the BBS/CFT/IDM model can mitigate the effects of this trauma and redirect the future of that newborn.
